Thought For Food 2018

What is TFF?

TFF is a movement dedicated to tackling the global challenge of feeding 9+ billion people through bold, breakthrough solutions.

  • We are comprised of some of the best and brightest minds of the next generation, driven by a desire to invigorate innovation and uproot the status quo.
  • We run an annual competition to catalyze university students from all fields of study to learn more about the complex challenges surrounding food security, and inspire them to channel their passions and creativity towards developing new ideas that make a difference.
  • Most importantly, Thought For Food is a one-of-a-kind community of friends, a network that students can count on to support them in their efforts to make the world a better place.

Why TFF?

  • Every day one billion people go to bed hungry; even more are malnourished. At the same time, on the same planet, one billion people wake up fat and overfed. This perverse imbalance has dire consequences for our already strained healthcare systems and dwindling natural resources.
  • With the world population poised to increase to 9+ billion by 2050, we urgently need new solutions to ensure everyone in the world has access to adequate, safe, and nutritious food.
  • Thought for Food was created with the realization that the issue of food security is too big for any one person, institution, or organization to handle.
  • It takes the creativity of the leaders of tomorrow and the experience of established change-makers to join forces in exciting new ways to uproot the status quo and forge a better future for 9+ billion people.

Core Beliefs

  • We can change the world.
