Working Principle of FoodFresh: Biomimicry- Learning from nature

In the fields fruits and vegetables grow in the sun without any form of cooling. Crops can have a core temperature of 37°C or 100°F on the field and be in perfect condition. This is because on the fields, roots of crops still receive water from the soil which prevents them from getting dehydrated and stops enzymes inside the cells of the vegetables from breaking down. Using this lesson from nature, we developed our product, FoodFresh. Mimicking nature, if we can keep fruits and vegetables after harvesting hydrated in the same way as in the field, they can remain fresh longer and increase their shelf life, leading to more food to feed the 9 billion people
