Welcoming Welkin Into Our Society - 4

Welkin is easily integrable into our current society. Here is how....

Scenario 4

In India, and also in many other developing countries, agriculture is a profession suffering from over-employment. More than required number of people are employed in this profession. In India for example, about 57% of the workforce is employed in agriculture, which contributes to only 16% of country's GDP. Even then, most of the agriculture workforce is not skilled, and spends entire day working hard and sweat in the field. This is clearly a wastage of vast human resource. With Welkin, only minimum human supervision will be required. With the saved time, the workforce will have enough time to acquire new skills. With the acquired new skill set, many will be tempted to start working in other ventures, and will thus reduce over-employment in agriculture, thus will help in much more constructive utilization of human workforce.

In specially developing countries, farmers are generally poor. They might not be able to purchase enough units of Welkin. A co-operative approach will thus come handy in this scenario. Stakeholders including farmers, middlemen, shopkeepers and investors collectively buy appropriate amount of units. Farmers operate the units, and the produce is transported to the market via middlemen where it is sold and the profits are divided amongst all the stakeholders as per pre-decided agreement. Thus, Welkin can easily become a part of a successful co-operative model.

With the help of city's municipal corporation, Welkin units are installed on rooftops of many of the city's buildings like malls, schools, libraries, community centres, prisons and many more. With all the extra production of food crops, the prices of food crops in the market are regulated. In school, children are introduced to farming at a tender age, so they will to appreciate and respect food. In prison, a lot of tax payer's money will be saved if food for prisoners can be grown in prison itself, which is possible with the help of Welkin which will be operated by prisoners themselves. Operating Welkin units can also be a part of community service, which is a constructive activity as it results in food production.
