PALM PLANTATION BP PRESENTATION SCRIPT PRESENTED BY GUILDANCE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, THE PROJECT LOCATION IS IWO IN NIGERIA.
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT PROBLEM YOU ARE SOLVING
My name is Adisa Kabiru Adeniyi. I am also a farmer, particularly interested in cash crop farming. The replacement of palm oil tree of 10 years with improves palm oil tree of 3 years and solvent extraction plant method introduced to recover palm oil that would have been lost as waste. We will institute a mechanism of monitoring and evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of our competitors; enabling the company to get regular and instant feedback. The business will use development of “cradle-to-cradle” model i.e. profitable and environmentally sound method that uses Zero burning techniques and organic compost. Maize and plantain serves as subsidy
My proposed project is palm tree plantation and palm oil production; and it is designed to address the problem of scarcity of palm products in Nigeria. The sum of $4,900 will be needed to execute this project.
WHY THIS IS A PROBLEM AND HOW YOU INTEND TO SOLVE IT.
Some years ago Nigeria is used to be known for exporting palm oil, but after the discovery of petroleum product, the nation went to sleep on Agriculture, and today the else exporter of palm oil now imports the same to meet its local need. This makes the product not only to become very expensive but also expose the consumer to risk of getting exposed to adulterated oil.
This project targets to set up a medium palm oil production firm that can produce a minimum of 10,000 gallons of palm oil every year. We will employ the use modern practice of extracting oil from the kennel to make it free of Fatty Acid, cholesterol and smoke – the constituents that make most of the imported oil dangerous to consumers’ health.
While the focus of this project is to support the vision of Federal government through increased in production of food and cash crops to ensure local food security and potential for future exports to boost the National Income, it will also go a long way to generate employment opportunity for many, reduce poverty and encourage the millions of unemployed youth in the country to consider agriculture as an alternative to white collar job that is nowhere to be found.
WHY AUDIENCE SHOULD CARE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM
If this project eventually sees the light of the day, it will boost Nigeria economic as a whole, increase nation GDP through exportation, and enable the nation regain back her glory in palm oil production. It will serve to encourage diversification of national source of income from being pivoted on petroleum product alone that will be exhausted some day.
It will also encourage urbanization of rural communities; provide employment in no little volume, and greatly contribute to poverty reduction.
