Mycorremediation of chemical contaminants

Not only does Pleurotus helps to feed populations but it can also be used in mycoremediation. This allows the restoration of contaminated soils that may be derived from environmental problems, global or local, that narrow the land use possibility making it more difficult for populations to grow their food and sustain themself.
This shows that our concept may contribute more than only food production it can also be a way to make land reusable and to clean toxins from other substrates because mycelia can degrade toxins present in many substrates and preventing them from entering the food chain making the byproducts unfit for use.
