BAFY mission is to bridge the growing gap between youth in the agricultural sector at the high school level and the tertiary level by fostering dialogue between young agricultural professionals and aspiring agriculturalists to assess the reason/s for this gap and the means by which to close and/or bridge this gap.
BAFY seeks to enhance Bahamian agriculture by providing a medium for youth and budding agriculturalist, through effective plans and programmes, to promote economic advancement. It is also designated to facilitate the development of leadership and negotiating skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other stakeholders to achieve desired goals. Other goals of BAFY include: the development of strategies to promote the viability of agriculture and increase youth involvement in the sector; a focus on food security; improve entrepreneurial skills; promote sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation. We joined this challenge because to assist in achieving those goals.
