Lead Against Food Waste

Let’s lead against waste with great haste so the world can be of standard taste.

LAFW engages global leaders to support the awareness of and implementation of a countrywide systematic collection of unwanted food.

Use Case

Stacey is a restaurant owner and a shopaholic who really loves food and her family knows this so they continuously send her barrels of food items. She doesn't eat much so most of her goods are wasted and business is bad so there’s so much left over. One day while watching television she sees a local ad on the effects of food waste and hears her favorite activist making a call to action whilst speaking about a national food waste system which will collect waste from restaurants and homes. Instantly she becomes motivated by this and decides to donate leftovers and waste from her home and restaurant which in turn gave her free advertising and national/international recognition for her business via the activist, media and social media. Moreover many families went to bed happy!

Potential

We believe that no great issue can be curbed without the right call to action. Hence, project LAFW has tremendous potential to make a difference in the eradication of food wastage worldwide. It will indeed uproot the status quo, target and engage individuals and organizations which possess the power, will and charisma to support the project and spread awareness on an international level. This can be the beginning of a global movement which can be as huge as Climate Change. We can create change by mobilizing and encouraging the world’s population to educate themselves on the effects of food waste and to support the countrywide implementation of a continuous and mandatory system for households to donate unwanted, nutritious food items after every 2 months and restaurants on a daily basis.

Business Case

LAFW will be established as a not-for-profit movement which will later be developed into an authentic organization which will solely operate on funding received by grants from the government, private entities and through fundraising activities. However, we intend to engage and convince restaurant owners through the system of barter where we will offer them free advertising incentives on mural spots ,the media and via our website and social media pages which will encourage consumers to support these business since they will agree to donate leftovers to people in need. Moreover, businesses will be given contracts and certified with officially promoted Global Feeders sticker bearing the project logo. We will feed the world with one heart and leader at a time.

Objectives:

  1. To encourage and convince global leaders to send out calls of action against food waste worldwide.
  2. To implement a national food waste collection system worldwide which will collect nutritious food items from households and restaurants.
  3. To spread international awareness of the effects of food waste by utilizing the power of leaders and social media.
