NEED OF THE HOUR

Global Foodies Fact-3 / Published October 15, 2014 by Rishabh Verma

Global Foodies Fact-3

In the present scenario, there is sufficient food being produced to meet everyone's requirements.
But to much dismay, a lot of food is wasted by a segment of the population delving into overconsumption, using crops for energy production and feeding of cattle.
M.K. Gandhi once stated "The world has enough for everyone's need, but not enough for everyone's greed".

Global Foodies Fact-2 / Published October 15, 2014 by Rishabh Verma

Global Foodies Fact-2

Conventional crops require about 1 litre of water per calorie. This implies 1300 litres of water demarcated solely for growing food per person in a day.
The daily water used by an average US citizen is about 400 litres.
This implies the water used in agriculture is four times the amount of water used for all other day to day activities.
This surfaces the rapacious water requirement of convention farming.

Our Mission

As our project name-'Pragati' portrays, we seek to instigate the usherance of a new era devoid of hunger along with preserving the pristine beauty of nature. We have the solutions. All we need is to act.

Our Background

We are a bunch of aspiring engineers from different fields collaborating our knowledge. The thought that if we proceed at the present state, then by 2050, 3 billion people shall be hunger-stricken, greatly disturbs us. Using the engineering skills that we have acquired, we seek to increase the agricultural produce along with maintaining the ecological balance.
