Use Case

Anita lives in a rural community and she is about to finish high school and doesn't know what comes after. Her parents are pushing her to go to the city, because there are not job or education opportunities for young people in the countryside. In Anita’s school is starting a program for young people called Deep Roots, where they strengthen their leadership and teamwork skills, and finally, learn about Sustainable Rural Entrepreneurship. After the program, Anita decides to use her skills and resources to start up a Cooperative Company with other friends. The Deep Roots Network supports her to develop the business and start an Eco Market in the Principal Square of the city.

Potential

Rural youth have the energy, creativity and initiative to develop ideas that can create a more sustainable, better nourished, entrepreneurial and inclusive world; unfortunately, these young people lack of opportunities to make those ideas in reality. Deep Roots aims to generate opportunities to this young people giving them the necessary tools to transform their ideas into Cooperatives Companies. Unlike other similar programs, Deep Roots is aware that is necessary to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and this will achieve when the whole community gets involved into the Business Education of these young people. That’s why we believe in the power of other Agro Descendants, not only financing the program or mentoring, but also spreading the Deep Roots message worldwide.

Business Case

Agro Descendants around the world connect to our website. They identify on a map their 4 or more places of origin (their Roots), which could be the places where their grandparents or great grandparents born. After that, they realized that there are other friends who shared the same Root and invite more people to the website. Then, they all get together to start an online campaign to finance a Deep Roots program in their places of origin. Deep Roots charges a small fee on the funds raised, and finally, once the Agro Descendants managed to finance the campaign, a Deep Roots - Local Team start the program with support of local guests and volunteers, also Agro Descendants.

Objectives:

  1. Produce long-term and positive social impact in the communities of the entrepreneurs.
  2. Involve Agro Descendants with the Business Education of rural young people.
  3. Have Deep Roots programs in more cities around the world.

Prototype workmode was good! :)

But, we realize at some point that we forgot to take care of the fanpage and also of the followers on Twitter!
So, this time, we take time to develop a Communication Plan to increase fans in Facebook and also to develop trends in Twitter and to let the followers know a bit more what we are doing, about our dreams, and, about the challenges we are trying to fight with!

High risks of Conceptualize!

The more we conceptualize, the more crazy we get!
And ... we are enjoying it!!!

Here in the picture you can see Diego thinking in new ways to develop his concept. We know he seemed not normal, and, let's be honest, he is not, jaja! He's totally nuts, like the rest of the group! That's why are getting so innovative concepts! :)

Our Mission

Stimulate in teenagers, Agrarian Entrepreneurship, in a framework of sustainability, responsibility and freedom. Vision: The agriculture is the path where more youth are willing to walk.

Our Background

We are a multidisciplinary team of youth who are passionate about the countryside, who love to travel and to transform and inspire lives we meet in the road. The group is formed mostly by students and graduates of La Molina Agrarian University, in Peru, but the group is also conformed with people from other sources, who have found in the group the same dreams and goals. We all are convinced that youth have to be the key to impulse and rejuvenate the national agro. We worked to build a sustainable, nourished, enterprising and inclusive Peru.
