GreenHopping is trying to impact the diets and eating habits of families in America, including lower income communities. By helping customers access and buy green foods easily, we are trying to encourage a transition to a healthy lifestyle–and in the long run–mitigate the risks related to obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer. When it comes to having healthy food options, not only poverty levels, but access matters. We are trying to make healthy eating accessible to all through technology. GreenHopping aspires to revolutionize the way consumers access green food by using technology to connect consumers with healthy options in their neighborhoods and to educate them on the benefits of healthy diet. Our solution provides information, access, and a way to purchase healthy food and green juices on your mobile device. Think Yelp or Seamless a la green. By fostering this, we expect to promote a change in attitude towards healthy eating, all while expanding the market for green food.
We're a triple threat combining technology, health, and commerce. We're passionate and relentless. In 6 months, we achieved approximately 5,000 downloads, established a relationship with the Office of the First Lady, secured major media coverage, and partnered with FlyWheel, a national fitness brand, to raise awareness about green juice locations in the country. Now, we'd like to take GreenHopping to the next level, and monetize it based on a product we know people like, need, and want. Catherine and Alfred met during President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign and merged both worlds and expertise to create a company that incorporates the grassroots as well as the grasstops to achieve their mission – healthy eating for all. They are now engaged to be married.
