Bummer!

We have tried very hard to finalize everything on time, but alas...
We won't be able to make it before the deadline. :(

Our own Design Lab progress

Due to the hiatus, we weren't able to properly attend and follow the steps of the Design Lab webpages either. We think the idea of the Design Lab and its methodology is a very nice addition!

Our studies have a similar integrated approach in their modules, so we believe we are familiar with the approach.

To test our proto-type (concept), we asked our peers for their feedback, as well as art students for their feedback, specifically on the design. Moreover, we did not make the proto-type fully operational yet, but we focused on the design and concept of function first, which we showed and received feedback on.

For now, we will focus on realizing our video's!

Summary of our work so far

Hey everyone! We haven't had the chance to properly update our Blog yet due to hiatus.

In the last month, we have been actively working on the project!

We are glad to be able to represent The Netherlands, and we hope to be able to present to you a spectacular plan to help feed 9 billion people in the future.

Keeping an open mind was our top priority during our brainstorming sessions, and our research & development sessions. Amongst the themes we have discussed are: modification of food crops, awareness campaigns, how to get our message to reach all groups of people, the impact of food on health, the properties of crops, practical implementation, finances, etc !

Our main approach is to work in reverse, or, 'back' from the problem: identify the causes of the food problem in 2050, filter the tremendous amount of causes into 'key causes / key points', determine the properties and status of as many causes as possible, and then design a fitting solution. Lastly, of course, will be to prepare everything so we can present it in an ideal, entertaining and comprehensive way (such as omitting all jargon and stressing the relevance).

Our Mission

Awareness is key! Finding a solution for the Global Food Problem is important, but so is conveying this information to the people. Our goal is to make complex, food-related information available and understandable to everyone. We aim to convince everyone to take action, because only together we will be able to solve the Global Food Problem!

Our Background

We are 5 students of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Utrecht University, The Netherlands. We are enthusiastic and creative Honours students who like the challenge of thinking about and working on such a big and important project. We strive to solve the Global Food Problem, because it will affect each and everyone of us. Through our Campaign we will share our passion to ignite everyone's hope and passion to take action - to solve the Global Food Problem!
