Our Mission

OtherShip Foods is a young start-up developing a technology and service that allows commercial food service entities to Pick Today. Our mission is to make hyper-local produce a reality in sectors of the food industry most at odds with seasonal volatility, such as the food service industry. Our technology builds upon existing container agriculture, featuring a 30% increase in space and light efficiency, and a completely redesigned user interface. Our service removes existing barriers to going hyper-local, such as expense, expertise, and maintenance, and leaves everything but the harvest and consumption up the experts. OtherShip Foods stands for a completely innovative approach to food production, food sovereignty, and food security, using intermodal technology, systems design, and consumer generated data as our launchpad.

Our Background

OtherShip Foods is a two person team: Starin McKeen and Jefferson Morris bring very different backgrounds in the food system together to form a cohesive vision of a food system designed for consumption rather than distribution. We are dedicated to sustainable design, biodiversity enhancement, and innovation at every level. We are raising funds to build a high fidelity prototype of our technology. This prototype is our largest barrier moving forward as a viable business. Interested restaurants and distributors cannot wait to taste what our containers can do!
