Our Mission

As the human population continues to grow, food scarcity will be a problem in the coming decades. Agribots wants to help solve that problem by helping food producers create better food with fewer inputs and less waste. We believe that by helping to bridge the gap between food production and technology, we can help food producers better meet the growing needs of the global population.

Our Background

Agribots is participating in the Food For Though Challenge in order to change the way that food is produced around the world. We want to introduce technology to the most basic food production, the field. We believe that by introducing sensors to the field farmers will be able to better regulate their resources. The founding team consists of Juan Abraham Massman and Carlos Vadillo Rodriguez. The two founders are currently first years in the Wharton Business School and the Lauder Institute. Originally from Chile, Juan brings his experience as an engineer and programming and his knowledge of the family business of grapes and viniculture to the project. Carlos immigrated to the United States from Mexico and is excited to bring his knowledge of financial markets and love for home brewing and horticulture to this venture. Juan as had several inroads into entrepreneurship. In the last 5 years he co-produced a music video, created a small art fund to create artworks by commission and then sell them in the market and started a small beer-tap importing business in Chile. Carlos has had experience with various start-ups and entrepreneurial projects. After graduating from UC Berkeley, Carlos attempted to start a tea export firm in Japan and Mexico. During his career with Wells Fargo Securities, Carlos also helped expand the investment bank into Latin America and Asia. Recently, Carlos has identified a way to introduce cloud computing to construction firms in emerging economies.
