Givin Tree

Everyone can plant, plant you can.

‘Givin tree’ is a self-sustainable planting tank. It is convenient, low-effort, suitable for busy owners to produce own crops for food.

Use Case

Traditional farming requires land, and with an ever growing population that is forcing housing developers to build Upwards, this becomes an issue. Cities such as Singapore have an ever increase population that live their lives without access to growing soil Therefore our product (insert name here) is focused on providing household with limited access to growing land, a solution that comes in a convenient and compact design that is self-sustaining and relies on food waste to grow more food. The product comes with multiple features that allow for the convenience of the busy working user, such as remote monitoring of water pH, status of filters and water pumps and light control. Little maintenance is needed apart from planting, harvesting, and refilling aquatic feed.

Potential

This allows every household to have their own sustainable, ergonomic and low effort mini garden. Done in a big enough scale, families can reduce the burden of local farms and reduce the food waste generated by the community, combating two issues at once. With a reduced dependency of farm food, the excess food can be redistributed in lower cost to other areas, while the reduction in food waste will do wonders for local waste management. Thought It is not designed to be used for mass crops such as wheat or corn, and certainly not to replace farm grown food, it is nevertheless a starting point and introduction to farming for these highrise, middle to upper-class households.

Business Case

This is a unique and viable concept that addresses the needs of various customers and it is one of the niche market that has the least direct competition and we believe has a tremendous growth potential. This is because we see a large need for this product for households or those who live in high-rise buildings that have low space for plantation so they can consume small amount of food without buying. This giving tree product increases food production in a minor way for each household and it operates with low maintenance and less time needed. It is simple in operating as it holds the concept that everyone can plant and it could reduce the pressure on farmers as everyone can plant their own food now and not fully rely on farmers.

Objectives:

  1. Constant supply of vegetables. Vegetables can now be produced at unlikely small places at home with minimal care needed from users.
  2. Reduce farmer pressure. Every household can plant their own crops at home and buy less vegetables from market.
