The Right Portion

Be cautious of your portions.

We created a restaurant that serves the correct portion sizes, as set by the government in order to reduce waste.

Use Case

You are entering a restaurant and you pay for a meal that you know you will not be able to finish. With The Right Portion, you can get the right amount of food for the right price.

Potential

By serving smaller, yet reasonable portions, we are able to reduce food waste. Excess food or leftovers usually result in garbage. We are eliminating these leftovers, in hopes that food waste will decrease.

Business Case

Our restaurant serves various foods with portion sizes that are set by the government. The initial portion is a set price. If the customer is still not satisfied, they can order another supplemental portion for an additional, reduced cost.

Objectives:

  1. To reduce food waste by eliminating leftovers in our restaurant.
  2. Make more food available to others by purchasing less food from supermarkets. With smaller portion sizes, we need less food.
  3. To please our customers with satisfying and healthy dishes.

It took a long time to come up with our final idea, the Right Portion. We changed and altered our plan a couple times and have finally perfected our concept.
