We founded Mater Dynamics to avoid food waste. We believe that we have something to show to the world, and this is the opportunity to do it. Our team comprises professionals, PhD and MSc students. Team: #Tiago Cunha Reis Tiago is the founder of Mater Dynamics, being its Head of Business and Technology. He has a MSc. in Chemical & Biochemical Engineering (NOVA University of Lisbon), graduating as the top student from his class. Due to his curriculum, Tiago got a direct scholarship to be trained at the MIT (USA), as part of his PhD under the MIT-Portugal Program. Tiago has more than 5 years of experience in sensor engineering and mathematical modelling, both in academic and industrial milieus. He likes to describe himself as “not a scientist, not a business man…both!”. Tiago’s keywords of interest are: nanotechnology, sensors design, value proposition, product fit and soccer. #Ana Machado Ana is the Technology Manager of Mater Dynamics. She has a MSc. in Biological Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (Universidade de Lisboa). Her master thesis was developed at Cambridge University (UK) and after that she got a direct PhD scholarship from the MIT-Portugal program. Now, Ana is finishing her PhD at Champalimaud Foundation where she was linked to the development of an automated system, aimed to quantify and analyze animal behavior (LocoMouse). Ana is an international certified professional in LabView with several years of experience. Ana’s favorite quote is: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” #Diana Vieira Fernandes Diana holds a Law Degree (FDUNL) and a Post Degree Diploma in Securities Law (Instituto de Valores Mobiliários, FDL). At NOVA she attended the “Creating and Managing Entrepreneurial Ventures” Master Course.Diana received NOVA University’s 2011 award of distinction (Diploma of Merit) in the Field of Entrepreneurship. Diana served as Head of Finance and Corporate Affairs at NOVA Entrepreneurship Society – Clube de Empreendedores da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She also is a founding member of the same non-profit institution. Currently, she is involved in: MIT Portugal Energy Club E3 Forum (Finance & Partnerships); Royal Society of Arts Fellow; Law and Management Master Student – (NOVA School of Business and Economics). She was also a invited member to SOLVE Conference (Solve.mit.edu) last fall. We also have Margarida, Nuno, Luís and Diogo that are team members responsible to execute several R&D and manufacturing activities.
