ABC(agriculture bridge city)

we, acting as a bridge , help the poor people to get enough nutricious food.

we will use our O2O business model and a mobile app to realize the goal of obtaining enough nutrious food for the poor.

Use Case

In developing countries, many farmers have surplus capacity of their products while their products sold via intermediaries in the urban markets are too expensive. As a result , the farmers cannot get enough money to buy nutrious food for their families.

Potential

Through our project, we can not only help the poor people to get nutrious food, but also open a new and large market to make a good fortune. Our business model is also in compliance with the sustainable development of the world economy.

Business Case

The poor farmers and the rich can use our mobile apps to get what they want. meanwhile, we get small commissions from each order. we can use such commissions to invest in more villages. It is much easier to copy and implement.

Objectives:

  1. help the poor to get nutrious food
  2. creat more jobs
  3. narrow down the divergence between city and rural area, a more sustainalbe economy

Idea, solution and model operation

Our Mission

Our mission is to help farmers to get their products into new markets, for example citizens thanks to our platform can experience the vegetables and fruits produced which they would otherwise not have a chance to enjoy, because of the current intermediaries who leave them without a big margin, each time their output is sold. In a way we act as a bridge connecting the Agriculture and Cities, that’s why our name is ABC (Agriculture Bridge Cities). We also take pride in helping Senior Students (our Ambassadors/tour guides) to get an internship to earn some money and acquire experience, thus we create benefit to the whole society.

Our Background

Our goal is to balance the wealth between the countryside and the city. As university students, we can launch an initiative to help the city to approach the natural environment and the countryside to make the best of its own advantages to earn money. First, we help the country side to design its food development project, like integrating them into one unique agricultural field to attract more citizens to come and visit. Through an e-commerce platform, we convey the idea to the city and the farmer. Each visitor will be charged about 100yuan (15$ or so) when placing an order. In the initial stage, we need 2 senior university students, each of whom will be paid 200 RMB/day. Each time, we can get at least 50 visitors. Our margin perhaps is around 2000 RMB ($313) per trip. Each countryside has its own unique food advantage. We want all the citizens to experience that.
