By applying the knowledge and skills of Food Science and Technology in the production and supply chain of foods for providing safe, wholesome and nutritious food to the people of Nepal and foster economic prosperity of the country through developing and promoting our indigenous products via agro-food processing sector.
We are Food Technology graduates from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. One of our member Anuj Niraula is continuing post graduate study in Food Processing in Belgium. During our visit to different parts of Nepal we came to know that Nepal is suffering form severe Food Insecurity. World Food Program Nepal illustrates about 17% people are under-nourished and 41% children below 5 years to be malnourished. The reason for this in some parts is lack of adequate food while on other parts the major reason is inappropriate food habit and unbalanced dietary content in their food. I strongly believe that proper policies should be made and implemented to raise awareness among producers and consumers regarding the quality food production, processing, distribution and consumption. During our work we will emphasize particularly in production of multi-nutrient products by utilizing locally available food materials and promote ingenious products for improving food quality and consumer health.
