Our Mission

Scale Up believes in the power of the planet to solve the problems of the planet. We believe that the answers lie in the hands of our generation in order to combat the problems presented by the increasing population and the decreasing natural resources. The answers themselves can be created by streamlining the existing farming models, in order to maximise the resources invested.

Our Background

Scale Up was created within the Enactus Think Tank in Nottingham. Nottingham Enactus believes that the true nature of benevolence must be an empowerment of those less fortunate, rather than an uncontrollable reliance on handouts. With this spirit, we hope to put empowerment into the hands of farmers in Western Africa by creating a hugely efficient source of both protein and nutrients, through an aquaponics system. We are a team of engineers, business students and geography students who, between us, are able to pull our skills together to create a vision. As visionaries for the future, Scale Up maintains that the planet must find new ways to feed itself. We want to take efficiency into a new dimension with our farming model and minimise waste. We believe in empowerment. We believe in the present moment for action. We believe in the planet.
