Our Mission

We are young people focused on realizing our capabilities and making this planet a better place. But defining the concept of being 'better' is difficult and we understand that bigger does not necessarily mean better. Everyone faces challenges in life and the decisions they make defines a legacy. Here we set out to write our legacy, to observe the troubles in the world and leave a story worth telling. Eat, grow, feed - such is the process we aspire to.

Our Background

Food is essential. Every community has its own definition and demands on food, but it remains a dire necessity. Producing food is not so daunting a task, what makes the problem seem intimidating are the costs required to do so. The labor, the earth, the logistics, the politics and in some cases the sheer lack of innovation stunts the growth of the food industry, stopping if from being what it can be. From the current rates of food production, it appears that Earth is nearing its carrying capacity for human life, but humanity has persisted for ages, and we will continue to persist. As a team we believe food should be made available to everyone at costs that they can afford. It may look like an unrealistic claim, but we sincerely believe that we can collectively contribute and cultivate a food culture that will in the least sustain the current population of the planet. We have conceptualized what we have to do, however, there is much research needed to support our claims more elaborate presentations are required to capture the whole process. We wish to present this in our submission to the competition. Team Dark Flare
