Any one interested in farming but unable to do so due to lack of land and unfavorable environmental condition.

Potential

By ensuring the food security and advancing Agricultural Industry with a slight variation in the way of farming. This can enormously increase the production rate in small time and area thus making food available for a large population in future as well in any environmental condition in very cheap operational cost.

Business Case

We want to implement our system in a large scale for massive production of various crops increasing the GDP that can be a huge source of income.

Objectives:

  1. To feed 9 billion people by 2050, despite of less cultivable land and less time.
  2. To increase the economy by increasing the GDP, by implementing the system in large scale.
  3. To produce healthier crops compared to that of traditional farming and to digitalize the agricultural industry.

We even demonstrated the simple prototype of our system in public to collect their suggestion and feedback. We got so many positive feedback that filled us with more and more positiveness towards our system. We got so many suggestions regarding our system and felt very supportive as all of them we curious to know more and more about it. They all motivated us and supported our system.

Building the System

This picture was taken while we were working on our System. We were working on the lighting system as well as on the Software part to sense the temperature and record the data for further visualization.

Our Mission

Our team "Digital Hydroponics" works for growing plants/crops digitally without using soil so as to implement it any where, even in our closed room. We have developed a closed system for growing crops in mineral nutrients solution maintaining the essential environment automatically with the help of respective sensors, high intensity LEDs for lighting purpose and even helps in photosynthesis, fans, heaters for maintaining temperature. We are using a Raspberry Pi based server to control all these factor that are responsible for the growth of the plants. This closed system will grow you food anywhere at any condition. The growth is faster, healthier and tastier as compared to that of traditional farming. We have even implemented vertical farming so as to grow more crops in less are. This system is very effective and cost efficient as well.

Our Background

We are engineering students trying to contribute in agricultural field since agriculture is one of the important aspect of any country which needs such technical look-over. We want to contribute something to this field as per our engineering aspect so as to make it easy for the farmers who are suffering. Our project can even attract today's youths in this field. We even care about the people in mountain regions for whom growing crops on their own has always been a problem because of unfavorable weather and lack of fertile land. We want to train those mountaineers about this method so that they can grow on their own. On the other hand we want to develop the agricultural industry with the implementation of our system in large scale. We want to develop a food server based on our system so as to grow crops in much efficient way so that we can feed more people by controlling the price hiking that is increasing in sky rocketing way.
