Our Mission

To provide practical and sustainable agronomic and post-harvest handling solutions for smallholder farmers, with special emphasis on enhanced crop yields, nutrition and high standard food storage techniques.

Our Background

Team "Feed them" is comprised of 5 Master of Philosophy students from the University of Zimbabwe. The members cut across 2 disciplines in agriculture namely agronomy, post-harvest science. The team is participating in this challenge because they are passionate about on farm research in small scale farmers in the country. They have been working with smallholder farmers in Zimbabwe trying to come up with sustainable agronomic and post harvest solutions for these smallholder farmers. The farming ares include Gokwe, Hwedza, Murehwa, Mbire and Gormonzi. The teams research work will be published between 2017 an 2018 as part of their individual masters programs as they have different projects individually. All the team cares about is the smallholder farmer and the teams current work is in direct contact with these farmers.
