Chubby bar can be one of the solutions to feed hungry and malnutritious people.

Use Case

Chubby bar is a nutritious snack bar made of sweet potato, kidney bean, jackfruit, moringa flour and another natural component. It delivers delicious high energy snacks with protein, antioxidant, and fibers that is suitable for people who needs daily nutrition in more convenient way and who wants to eat snack that can quickly satisfy their stomatch without make fat. The governement and NGO could use chubby bar as on the go snack as emergency food if there is disaster like earthquake, flood, landslide, volcanic eruptions, etc to prevent food hunger on those community. This is because chubby bar has a practice form so that it will be easy to deliver wherever life may take anyone.

Potential

Chubby Bar is a nutritious snack bar made of three main components, which are sweet potato, kidney bean, and jackfruit with addition or moringa leaves. Chubby bar has compact form so it will satisfy our stomach quickly. The three main components are very promising to be developed because they are available abundantly accross the world up to total of million tons per year and these components can adapt to wide range of climate change condition. Meanwhile, our ingredients come from our local farmer that will help the smallholder farmers to sell their stock. Moreover, the components are high in essential nutrition. Thus, Chubby bar will be a good solution to solve world’s problem of hunger and malnutrition.

Business Case

ChubbyBar targeted to people who are concern with nutritional value and also to those who want to avoid or cure malnourished. The benefit of Chubbybar are its competitive price than the other. It also uses ecofriendly packaging because we support to keep our environment. ChubbyBar will be operating as farming industry and also as manufacturer. Chubbybar will available in retailer and online store. As our final target, ChubbyBar can be found in all minimarket around the world. Furthermore, the company’s high demand for sweet potato will help smallholder farmer in Indonesia.

Objectives:

  1. Decrease rate of hunger in the world by providing the nutritious snackbar product
  2. Enhance and support food diversification in resolving food needs in the world
  3. Help Indonesian farmer to improve their living standard by supporting Indonesia’s local food

Our Mission

Chubby Bar has a mission to help implementing zero hunger challenge by SDGs by making an innovate from Indonesia's local food to feed hungry people all around the world.

Our Background

Chubby Bar is a team consists of 5 Bogor Agricultural University's students. We care about today's condition that there are still nearly 800 million people who suffer from hunger worldwide although per capita food availability has risen from about 2220 kcal/person/day in the early 1960s to 2790 kcal/person/day in 2006-2008 for the world as a whole based on FAO. We have a mission to implement zero hunger challenge by 2050. To make this happened, we will create an innovation based on Indonesia's local food which can be consumed by people all over the world.
