Education and use of modern methods of farming

Achieving high productivity on a small land using a small and sustainable inputs

Providing education and practical skills on the ways of using integrated system of farming to establish a durable food security.

Use Case

The largest percentage of food consumed in urban areas is got from rural areas, Youth Bond for Food Security wants also to introduce the practical methods that people living in urban and sub-urban areas will use to produce their own food.

Potential

Education is a continuous seed of transfer of knowledge from generations to generations. In this way, we see that the seed of skills and knowledge we are going to saw in farmers will be passed on and turn into a generational chain of impact in a agricultural sector

Business Case

Our concept will increase the produce in agriculture, thus enlarging the agricultural field which will benef the farmers in different areas including their economy.

Objectives:

  1. -Educating the local farmers on sustainable methods of farming to increase productivity.
  2. -Educating and Introducing peri urban systems of farming in urban areas in order to help them produce food on small land available.
  3. -Giving a practical example on the implementation of the proposed methods of farming with farmers.

Working with the small farmers some where in the La Lucha community in Guacimo,Limon Costa Rica was a very educative experience for us as a team. We got to learn more about the possible success of our concept ¨Read and Feed¨. Watch out guys

Youth Bond for Food security is a team of multi-national young leaders aiming at solving food challenges considering the growing world population.

Our Background

Youth Bond for Food Security is a group of four young African leaders studying Agricultural sciences and natural resource management at EARTH University in Costa Rica. We are aiming at holding hands together to contribute towards the ongoing movement of achieving food security. We are looking forward to generating ideas that are fundamental in the sectors of production and distribution of food. Considering the problem of food shortage in different parts of the world and the challenge which has been placed before us , we had a zeal of coming together with a mindset of solving the problem of insufficient food production and access across the globe.
