AISA is an online portal to solve farmers' problems by artificial intelligence with farmers' practical experience in a smart way.

Use Case

It is android based application. Members have to download the application in their cell phone. Users post problems, the software generates appropriate solutions and these will be reviewed by other members. It is easy because local agriculture problems are common and solutions are based on both software database and farmers’ past experience. Thus, it is an effective way to get the most appropriate choice for their specific challenge. The application can be accessed both on desktop and cell phone as they will be synchronized. It is innovative, time efficient, cost worthy and provides situation based solutions for their problems. Members can learn about good agricultural practices and encouraged towards sustainable practices by reading success stories of fellow users.

AISA will provide agriculture information, current trends and future forecasting such as rain, temperature and others. The solution to the problems posted by farmers will be generated by an artificial intelligence system. These solutions will be reviewed by other farmers’ past experiences in agriculture. Thus, it is an innovative blend of artificial intelligence and farmers’ practical knowledge. In addition to this, the application will provide other useful agriculture information such as input and output market prices, weather predictions. This way they can plan for their sales, purchases and also plan for their agricultural operations such as land preparation sowing, harvesting etc., in an efficient and sustainable way contributing to the food security challenge of 2050.

Business Case

3) Recently, the use of smart phones among farmers is increasing. This presents an opportunity for enhanced information sharing among farmers. Thus, our idea is based on android application for farmers. It is a business application model that will need investment for the initial promotion. This model has more social benefit rather than private profit. The application will provide an advertisement tab for sustainable agriculture input suppliers and output traders (including potential importers and exporters). Thus, the application will give useful input / output connections to the users while economically self-sustaining with the promotional benefits. Later, it can be improved as an E-Commerce tool in agriculture.

Objectives:

  1. To provide specific sustainable solution to the agricultural problems farmers are facing
  2. To provide current local and national agriculture information to the farmers.
  3. To provide learning platform for farmers about sustainable agricultural practices for the regional crops

Our Mission

Agriculture is at the micro (farm) level activity and depends on climatic conditions. Hence the problems and solutions should be based on their needs and situations. There is the necessity to bring a single platform between the research findings in line with the farmers need. Thus, the universities are placed at the level of knowledge transfer from lab to farm. Collaboration between university research staffs and farmers in finding solutions to the problems at farmer’s field level for practicing the sustainable agriculture practices is necessary. This may help to extend the indigenous traditional knowledge of farmers, it reduces the transaction cost burden and delivery of specific need based solution will be successful. The collaboration can also be linked with other projects such as the production of organic inputs suppliers; certification agencies and other possible opportunities that will increase the efficiency of the collaboration. The main idea to move towards the path of sustainable agriculture is • To educate, engage, enable, exemplify and encourage the farmers towards good agriculture practices by the University staffs • Universities role has to be vital to assess specific needs of the farmers for sustainable agriculture in small groups with similar background, finding the economic viable and environmentally sustainable solution to their specific needs and situations. OUR IDEA: AISA is an online portal to solve the problems faced by the farmers by artificial intelligence. It creates a network of farmers to do sustainable agriculture in a Smart way.

IDEA: AISA is an online portal to solve the problems faced by the farmers by artificial intelligence. It creates a network of farmers to do sustainable agriculture in a Smart way.
