Stand against wastage and starvation

To use the food that is dumped by restaurants to feed the people who cannot afford if through an integrated distribution network.

Use Case

Restaurants are left with a lot of food at the end of the day, which they are forced to dump. These can then be used to feed people who are starving or cannot afford proper food. But there is no proper distribution method but we can do so with a truck and a few volunteers each working a day of the week. Every day at night these trucks will go around picking up food from the restaurants who are our members. This food will be distributed to the poor. This way we will reduce food wastage, lower pressure on food resources and at the end of the day, have more food for people. This is also applicable for events like office meetings, parties, etc.

Potential

Our concept will lead to reduction in food wastage around the world. This will decrease pressure on food resources and natural resources too. As such, we can also save the environment. This will also help to feed people who usually do not have access to protein and other things. This will reduce their waste disposal cost.

Business Case

Restaurants and food shops can become our members. We will make a route with all these restaurants and our trucks will make a round at night collecting up all the food that was to be dumped. The food will then be supplied to the poor an starving population all along the night. These business which will help us will be featured in our website as being a part of our noble cause. This can add to their CSR or corporate social responsibility. Also as a non-profit organization we are going to recruit and use volunteers. This simple business model can be replicated in cities and other counties can help them as it will help us.

Objectives:

  1. No one goes to bed in an empty stomach
  2. The food to be dumped is used to feed the people instead
  3. Reduces pressure on the food resources and environment
