WeR SEA is an Agribusiness Venture being established as a for-profit Agribusiness Company whose mission is to produce vegetables and fruits that can easily be produced locally, but are currently being imported from our neighboring countries mainly by foreigners. The business envisioned to work through national, regional and international business network to grow into a regionally-competitive agro-food value chains company

Our Background

Agribusiness culture remains a key pillar in economies of many Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) countries. The significance of agribusiness for wealth creation in Africa has been widely recognized in recent years. GDP growth alone, based chiefly on exports of rubber, minerals, and timber commodities with little or no processing involved, has not led to sustained poverty reduction. In order to accelerate sustainable growth and development and achievement the SDGs Goals 1, 2 &3, a rural transformation process is needed to raise the economic value of agricultural and agribusiness commodities and creates off-farm employment opportunities such as post-harvest processing, logistics, finance, marketing or quality management. Agribusiness should be seen as a modern industry with distinctive scientific, technological and management inputs: the focus of development assistance must move beyond agriculture, towards agribusiness. Jarius Andrew Greaves, after being named one of the top 32 entrepreneurs in the continent of Africa by the United State Department of State’s Global Innovation through Science and Technology(GIST Program) in April 2016 and having participated in an intensive entrepreneurship training in Johannesburg, South Africa, an entrepreneurial vision was born. He was enlightened to establish an entrepreneurship venture having conducted a business need or customer discovery assessment and had conversation with renowned entrepreneurs. Thus, Andrew reached out to cousins (Princess Saydah Lieway and Prince Ephraim Lieway) in the USA and shared the idea with them, and they being concerned with their country, and have been looking up to working with people to carry out a developmental initiative in their home-land, they agreed to fully joined Andrew to provide technical and moral support in establishing the Business. The key products and services of the business are the production of vegetables, fruits and the promotion of Entrepreneurship, talents and Leadership Development. All necessary processes are underway to initiate the Company. In the next 10 years, they envision a successful Agribusiness Enterprise in Liberia that will be equipped to supply fruits and vegetables on the markets and at various supermarkets and mini-mats to avoid the importation of these products that can locally be produced, less costly and provide employment opportunities and contribute the growth and development of the country.
