Petani Inspire

Solar Powered Vertical Wind Turbine for Insect Trap

Petani inspire is a project to encourage the farmers to reduce chemical and using Solar Powered Vertical Wind Turbine for Insect Trap.

Use Case

Petani inspire keep inspiring petani (farmers) to reduce chemical pesticide which can give big problems for us. Farmers should know what they usually do is totally dangerous for human life later years. What should they do then?. Technological innovation, Solar Powered Vertical Wind Turbine for Insect Trap is the solution.

Potential

Using chemical pesticide can increased the food production, but it can also give many disadvantages. First, it can give impact for human health implication. How will people survive for many years later just because of chemical on their body?. Second, chemical pesticide can give impact on environment. It contaminate soil and water so, it can make the soil less fertile later years and can be toxic for non target organisms. Third, how people can live without soil that can produce and provide food supply in future if their soil less fertile?. That is obvious farmers should reduce chemicals pesticide and use Solar powered vertical wind turbine for insect trap (light trap).

Business Case

Petani Inspire keeps encouraging the farmers to know about Solar Powered Vertical Wind Turbine for Insect Trap which have many advantages. Vertical wind turbine can be used in many regions condition especially Indonesia. It doesn't need fast wind to make this works. Blora (Central Java, Indonesia) has low speed of wind about 3-4 m/s but this vertical wind turbine can work perfectly to produce electricity for insect trap (light trap). The maintenance of this tool is cheap and easy. This Solar Powered Vertical Wind Turbine for Insect Trap should be used all around the world, it can keep our soil to be fertile to produce food.

Objectives:

  1. Encourage the farmers to reduce chemicals pesticide which can make the soil less fertile
  2. Using technological innovation for insect trap to kill their deadly pest and also can keep their soil to be fertile
  3. By keeping their soil to be fertile they can provide plentiful food for human in future

SOO EXCITED! Finally it is being tested!
Butt there are also some obstacle, which is the four-sided lamp for the pest trap is not that shiny and didn't shine through every side.
For the solution, we then change it into the six-sided lamp.

Our Mission

In Indonesian language, "petani" means farmer. Three of us lives in the rural side of Indonesia, that's why we saw "petani" a lot. Somehow, they inspired us. They worked restlessly and wholeheartedly. Combined with our creative ideas, we then decided to collaborate our mind and ideas to help them - and well, by helping "petani", we're helping food to be produced more and at last, we're helping ourselves. Since Petani Inspire is consist of young scientists and innovators that has been doing sustainable project in many sectors like energy conservation, agricultural and environmental problem for a long period of time, we are here to synchronize and collaborate our work to create a more solid and sustainable concept of those innovations for future agriculture. Through various process in the design lab, we decided to summarize our previous breakthroughs into a better tools for ahead. By the way, since all three of us lives in different part of Indonesia, we usually talk via social media! Thanks to technology and innovation!

Our Background

Living in a developing country like Indonesia may seem so difficult and full of limitation. But we believe that obstacle is just a booster for our minds to create new innovations and breakthroughs. We've been tackling various problem regarding to environment, health and energy source problems in this few years by several programs. Some of them has been recognized and appreciated by the local and national government. We believe that perseverance is the key. Starting from our own community in our high school and right now in the university, we will keep evolving and develop the ideas and effort that we have done. Our nearest target is to empower people in the rural and low income areas to have a better life quality, since 30 millions of Indonesia people have less than 2 dollars income per day. Thank you and wish us luck!
