Re-direct corn consumption and lower prices of processed foods containing sweeteners by processing sweeteners from maize cobs.
We are a team of 5 food security enthusiasts. We are driven by the desire to create a global impact in food security, and this is the opportunity that we've often longed for. The average worldwide consumption of corn is close to 722 million tonnes per year. 132 million tonnes of corn is used in industrial production of sweeteners. We hope that by processing sweeteners from maize cobs, we can redirect the corn used in sweeteners processing to the human consumption value chain. We also hypothesise a decrease in prices of processed foods containing sweeteners. This is because our production cost is lower than that of existing techniques. This will eventually create a less food insecure world.
