Brenda Nabisubi HAS U of applied sciences, Netherlands
A team of young motivated and passionate youth with a mission of developing sustainable farming technologies and innovations to improve agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa.
We are a group of four people; Brenda Nabisubi a student at HAS University of applied sciences studying International food and Agribusiness with a vision of helping improve food security in Sub-Saharan Africa, Winnie Nassaazi Winnie an agriculturalist currently venturing in environmental sciences in a bid to obtain practical solutions to Uganda's current and future agricultural problems, Carol Namusisi a passionate biomedical engineer working tirelessly to improve people's lives in Uganda through innovation and Dissan Ssekisambu a student at Makerere University doing a Bachelor of science in agriculture with an interest in sustainable farming. We are participating in this challenge because we strongly believe it will provide us a platform to share out thoughts and ideas about the current and future food situation with other young people from all over the world and also get an opportunity of learning new sustainable techniques used in other countries and see how we can implement them in our main areas of concern. Water has come to be the most setback of agricultural development in the world today, the ability to feed our nations is put to a test by changes in the climate that have affected the hydrological cycles responsible for the rain that sub-Sahara African farmers strongly depend on and this threatens food security. We as a team wish to focus on water availability and accessibility(Distribution) in sub-Saharan Africa. Restoring the climate back to favorable would take us many years or even close to being impossible, However, we will look at how we can evenly distribute the water available by using technology in a sustainable way that will improve Agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa while we carry out practices that will help stabilize the hydrological cycles.
