Our Mission

Spot refresh is a project which is combining the concept of Hydroponic and Fisheries, known as aquaponic, to optimize limited urban communities’ spot utilization for food production. This project aims to affect urban lifestyle and mind set about food production and consumption to support food independence and sustainability which will also decrease 2050’s global hunger issue.

Our Background

In 2017, over 7.1 billion people are living around the world. Unfortunately, 842 million of them are living with hunger issues. In addition, over 1.3 million tons of foods are wasted every year. The most food losses are vegetables and fishes (FAO 2012). This food losses and waste is mainly caused by food misdistribution. A large amount of food is not only being consumed but also wasted due to overconsuming lifestyle commonly done by urban communities. These problems are happening now! The world’s population is projected to increase by more than one billion people within the next 15 years, reaching 8.5 billion in 2030, and to increase further to 9.7 billion in 2050 (UN 2015).How could we produce enough food for the world? At the same year, most of the farming land will probably be converted into residences and other facilities regarding the actual world development. With limited space, it's barely possible for farmer to provide enough food to aim zero hunger in the world. Limited space and also urban consuming and wasting lifestyle should be overcome to avoid hunger in 2050. We are thinking of SPOT REFRESH PROJECT as the solution. SPOT REFRESH PROJECT will be campaigning about living as co-producing consumer by providing SPOT REFRESH Technology in every house especially in urban communities which will be dominating over 90% of the world population in 2050. With technology, SPOT REFRESH will be influencing people lifestyle and facilitate them to produce their own food in one spot at the right time, and the right amount. SPOT REFRESH will be integrating hydroponic and fish pond, known as the aquaponic system, designed as a multifunction and fast harvesting food producible home furniture. This technology will help the urban people to produce food by their own and Farmers to providing food for them who need help to feed their selves. The overall system will be supporting zero hunger in 2050. Be ready to be a part of it. Get your SPOT REFRESH ready to feed the world!
