Keeping the Main Thing, The Main Thing

Here at OmnesFarmilee, we believe that keeping the main thing, the main thing is central to feeding the expected 9.6 billion people in the world. and as a result we are building our activities and products around holistic human well being.
This informs our choice of a five(5) finger approach - (simulating the perfection in the human hand):
1. Multi-directional Education - We Teach as well as learn from those we teach
2. Zero - Waste: Nothing is waste, No one is useless - this is our ideology and we make it our practice
3. The Environment: Putting People's well being and that of the environment first in all that we do
4.Smart Farming - use of cheap but reliable sensors, accurate data analysis etc
5. Sustainability

Our Mission

Omnes Farmilee is interested in ensuring an efficient farming experience for small and medium scale farmers. This is to ensure a better and commensurate output for every effort invested. Among other issues threatening farming globally is climate change, and knowing how best to manage the situation, with less wastage of scarce resources (especially water) will be a great step to feeding the world’s projected 9 billion people by 2050. Omnes is out to develop low-cost and durable sensors (moisture, temperature, light, pH) for efficient farming for small and medium-scale farmers, using environment friendly approaches, including recovered plastics for packaging. The advantages of this innovation are to ensure that more farmers are technologically savvy, to ensure efficient, conservative, maximized and optimized food production, thus ensuring more food for every effort invested.

Our Background

Omnes consists of five (5) motivated students from varied fields but with a common ground which is the mutual passion for agriculture and food security. One would have expected a medical student, a social science education student, an ecologist, a civil engineer and an electrical engineer with a mix of undergraduates and doctoral students to have a misformed team. However, the multi-disciplinary and multi-experience backgrounds, coupled with the passion for a food secure world has made the team strong and helped us to find a way to solve problems beginning from our immediate environment. Having done some preliminary research on farming, we are developing low-cost and durable farming sensors for small and medium scale farmers to have a more efficient experience and optimize food production. It is worthy to note that a field experiment is ongoing to use and compare a moisture and temperature sensor. The names of the team members are: Adebisi E. Adekanmbi - Ecology Olanrewaju E. Adesina - Social Studies Education, Oluwaseun S. Ademodi - Civil Engineering Idris Eruobodo - Medicine & Surgery Samuel O. Enoch-Oghene - Electronics & Electrical Engineering
