We are a group of five who came from fields of interest—from food to textile to politics—but we knew that we wanted to make solutions for the throwaway culture adopted when it comes to food. We want to usher in a culture of safety and trust based on our dynamics as a team. We value friendship, progress, and the contributions we can all make. By dealing with something we all share, food, the goal is to develop a community that is aware of what they throw away and what can still be shared.
The FAO of the UN states that 1.3B tons or up to $680B worth of food gets wasted every year and about $450B of that come from food businesses. This is due to inefficient food handling, inventory management, and quality control. Food is important for everyone and in the future, consumption will grow and people will be more dedicated to the food they eat. Our goal is to make food handling easier across all supply chains and in turn, help food businesses grow with less wastage and more profits.
