Our concept aims at the optimal use of sciences and innovations of agriculture via a platform translated into local languages

Use Case

agricultural production Our concept will reduce the vulnerability of the community to variability of the climate through a resilient supported by a solar system of drilling for a production in all seasons. A platform will place at the disposal of the farmers sciences and the innovations of agriculture in their local languages. A field-school will be the place of experimentation of the innovations before their implementation.

Potential

Our concept will easily feed 9+ billion people in 2050 currently while decreasing 30% of the actual tilled area. By 2050 we will need a 70% increase in food production. Irrigation is the main way to increase productivity and the overall production to meet this demand. 16% of world’s tilled area is irrigated and it corresponds to 40% of all food production. The use on a large scale of sciences and innovations of agriculture will increase the productivityand reduce the vulnerability of the community to variability of the climate. Agriculture will become a flourishing activity which will reverse the tendency of the rural exodus. Our concept will develop inclusive markets which provide choice and opportunities to poorest as producers, consumers and employees

Business Case

The family exploitations constitute a lever of major development to answer the stakes of food safety, local job and natural resources management. The production and the practices of the farmers are improved and diversified and more regular all the year and made safe by outlets of the short circuits for sales. Production in against-season of the products with strong added value. Example: a basket of tomato which is yielded to 1 $ during great harvests, is sold 20 $ in period of welding. The great poverty will be eradicated then unemployment and the rural migration will be reduced. Agriculture will be a viable business, innovating which develops its environment and its territory. The waste will be collected and developed for the benefit of the production.

  2. To develop a durable agriculture supported by a solar system of irrigation on a small scale for a production during every month of the year
  3. Make the activity agricultural attractive and creative of employment and sell the products without intermediaries

Our Background

Our team consists of five (05) people including one licensed, three (03) will finish their license in 2018 and the last in 2019. We want to create and develop a farming business and then self-employ to escape unemployment. We are taking part in the challenge of solving a post-agricultural loss problem that arises in the first tomato producing municipality in Benin. Our project aims to energize the agriculture and to fight against the great porvety and the achievement of the SDG 2 and 1.
