The Re-Food Connect Co.

Your “Trash” could feed the world.

Online Networking Platform for the exchange between food producers and entrepreneurs of non-conforming food to transform it into new food.

Use Case

The seller (food producer) has food that is usually treated as "trash" but is actually in perfect conditions to be eaten, and can be rentable to sell them for a low price. The producers will enter to the website, register and fill a form with the details of the product that is on sale. The buyer (entrepreneur) will enter to the website. They will have access to the offers of each of the products for sale. The buyer selects the product or food of his preference, getting access to this low-cost source of supplies. After purchase, TRC collects payment and transfers it to the seller. TRC mediates the transaction, but doesn't ship the goods

Potential

The concept of the platform has as functionality to help connecting entrepreneurs, companies and farmers who obtain waste from food materials such as husks, in their manufacturing processes; as well as food that are rejected by aesthetic aspects or close to expire that can be used in other ways or also for entrepreneurs, companies or farmers for the creation of new products that contribute to the nutrition of society. Creating a society with zero waste, which contributes to a cleaner environment, without forgetting the main objective, which is to feed more people and in the future this could be an option in other parts of the world, therefore being a scalable project world level.

Business Case

Our business model is based on co-creation, which consists of the creation of a value, whether it is providing a service or solving a problem raised through the contributions of a community, mainly professionals in a sector, in this case companies, entrepreneurs and farmers. This business model, as mentioned before, has the contribution of a properly segmented community, aimed mainly at clients or potential clients whose objective of the platform is the increase of benefits for both sides of the balance. TRC will collect 10% of the transaction amount for the platform maintenance

Objectives:

  1. Connect entrepreneurs and farmers for the exchange of non-conforming food or food waste, obtained after or before its industrialization.
  2. Help companies to obtain a profit from those wastes for which they do not find use options.
  3. Having this food transformed into new nutritive products, accessible for everybody.

The prototype is here!!!

After long working weeks it's finally here! It wasn't easy and it's not completely perfect, but hey! If our prototype is so good, imagine what we can do next!!!

Our Mission

Our team stands for equality, looking for a great option to provide food for everyone, not just in quantity but in quality and taking the challenge of reducing environmental impact of food waste

Our Background

We are five friends, food engineering students looking for a chance to give a part of ourselves to the world's health. We care about people in hunger who need our help and doesn't get a healty and balanced nutrition. We want to be great innovators and entrepeneurs. Millions of food are wasted everyday, and there are people suffering from hunger, Does that makes sense? Not for us
