AgroID Control

A simple system for an easier harvest . Traceability in real time

AgroID control, is a 5-step technological solution designed to obtain and analyze productive information in real time.

Use Case

Each employee is given an RFID wristband, which will help identify his or her harvest. The AgroID scale, equipped with Bluetooth technology, captures the weight of the harvest, links it to the harvester wristband and sends it to a cellphone with the App AgroID The AgroID app allows a supervisor to set, up to 4 variables to define the type, quality and origin of each product The data is saved automatically and synchronized in real-time (through internet connection) with the AgrolD server in the cloud. By using the AgroID software and web portal, the CEO , Shareholders , Production , Sales and Capital Human team can access the information with different users from anywhere in the world and can further extend or custom their data analysis

Potential

Today, large scale farms represent 5% of the total amount of farms in the world. However, 88% of the land available for agriculture is operated by them (Lowder 2016). In a world that needs every year more and more food is critical to improve the productivity of this type of farms. Yet, 10 million of these farmers capture harvest information from their crops by hand, using average weights and handling a few variables. Consequently, the control of the harvest tends to be delayed, inefficient, and difficult to handle, which leads to a drastic reduction in competitiveness and productivity of their crops. Our first product AgroID Control, is a unique, 5-step technological solution with the power of transforming traceability in agriculture by delivering productive information in real-time.

Business Case

The system is commercialized through 3 parts: 1. An Annual subscription for the use of the software and server, based on the size of each farm. 2. Implementation and Training services 3. Equipment sales which includes the AgroID Scales and the RFID Bracelets. The 3-part guarantee and a high customer life value. Additionally, we will launch this year the English version and next year 2 new features for the System: AgroID Pest Control and AgroID Labor Control. Both will have an extra fee on the yearly subscription. Our potential customers are medium to large scale farms with a minimum average production of 800 kg per day that register their daily processes of harvesting/collection/packaging by hand. Most of them can be vertically integrated and have a strong exporting vocation.

Objectives:

  1. To increase crop productivity with real-time traceabililty, allowing any farm to analyze and optimize in key processes.
  2. To implement an easily adaptive system to suit any type of hand-picked crops , variety harvesting method and farm sizes
  3. To help build a clear relationship between the farmer and the employees based on productivity and fair payment

Our Team

Our Mission

AgroID is a technological start-up by farmers to farmers, formed by a multidisciplinary team of talented people that share an enormous passion for agriculture and technology. We strongly believe that technology solutions are essential to increase competitiveness and productivity in agriculture. Our belief and conviction is to transform the Ag/food sector, we already started with AgroID Control!

Our Background

Our prior experience as farmers made us realize the huge barriers that farmers face to access technology. Our purpose has been centered in taking down that technology obstacles through innovative solutions. We have developed a unique DNA, based on design thinking, and achieved through a partnership between an IT expert; an architect specialized in brand and product design, a PhD Ag/food researcher and an Industrial engineer and farmer with 8 years of experience as the agricultural sector
