Soilbox

For a conscientious and timely use of resources

Soilbox is a portable device composed of sensors that identifies soil variables and displays the results in an application.

Use Case

Soil Box is focused on Colombian farmers who are looking quickly to produce enough for their maintenance and increase their income.Only in Colombia, of the 26 million hectares available for planting, 6.3 hectares are used and most of them are deficient, this is conditioned by the complexity of the identification of the areas and the traditional analyzes in the field are costly, difficult of transporting and obtaining data is delayedThis would be solved with Soilbox because by using the equipment and the platform, technicians and farmers will have access to a less expensive, easier to transport, faster and more efficient soil analysis.

Potential

Soilbox will allow many producers in Colombia, Latin America and even in theMundo, have among their usual tools, a portable kit that allows them to have avery complete control of soil characteristics, allowing them to make decisionsmuch more robust and with support on tillage, sowing, nutrition, pesticides anddevelopment of the phenological stages of the crops, without the need to take samples ofits soil to specialized laboratories or having to purchase expensive equipment.

Business Case

The price of Soil Box would vary, since a conventional farmer can get it for aaccessible price, but if the person belongs to a minority population or isvictim of the armed conflict would receive a discount in order to boost their use, dignityhuman and production.Soil Box would be sold in the villages or traditional collection centers in the differentdepartments of Colombia or in recognized product areas focused on thefield work.

Objectives:

  1. Generate a solution to increase Colombia's agricultural production in a responsible and sustainable manner.
  2. Build a functional equipment and platform, at a low price, robust and easy to handle.
  3. Get recommendations and financial support to carry out the idea.
