Agroxtension is the linkage between producers and consumers of agricultural products while making farm product cheaper and affordable.

Use Case

The farmers relates directly to the consumer or extension agents depending on their level of literacy and knowledge in handling smart phones. The extension agent acts as the intermediary between farmers and consumers. They assist the illiterate farmers advertise their product online and seek for buyers. The farmer pays the extension agents for the service rendered. The consumers are the end users of agricultural products, they includes agro based industries, households, civil servants and so on. They relate directly to any of the producers and extension agents. Artisans are the facilitators for the distribution of agricultural products from farms to the consumers, they includes; drivers, bricklayers, carpenter and so on.

Potential

Connecting people globally and making food available and affordable by upgrading the platform to have a large database. Connecting people of the same interests and likes as well as those who are in one's contact. Unifying students of various institution to bring the best out of them and challenges them to solve their immediate environment problems. Assisting farmers in marketing their products from farm to the end users of the product through the help of students that serves as intermediary between the farmers and consumers. Increase the rate of employment opportunities around the world through online marketing of products and services.

Business Case

The results must be simple and easy to catch There will be advertisement on social media radio station TV station and magazines. There will be link for Farmers, students, Artisans, Employing programmers to handle both website and application There is always a training ground for students to get the information needed for registration and maintainance of the mosque. Conducting a seminar workshop for all users of Agroxtension Upgrading the platform Data base to a more powerful one and get the people's details and data that are secured

Objectives:

  1. Reducing the cost of purchasing by making farm product available to the consumers through online platform at an affordable price.
  2. Providing means of livelihood for students by engaging them as the middle men in the distribution process thereby creating job opportunities
  3. Creating market for agricultural products that are often regarded as waste during production process in order to minimize post-harvest loss.

Idea of Agroxtension

Agroxtension works just as other online platform where people shop online and order for products.

The main difference is that our products are agricultural products. It contains link for farmers, students, artisans and consumers.

They all interact with one another depending on how the situation warrants.

Farmers are the Producers of agricultural products which inhibit villages and are often characterized as low income earners.

Students are undergraduates of higher institutions or something secondary school leavers who are willing to participate in the distribution chain of agricultural products from farmers to the immediate consumer.

Artisans refers to those who are self employed and are engaged in rendering service in exchange for money. They includes but are not limited to drivers, carpenter, gardener, bricklayers, and so on

Making their money through the service rendered as well as updating farmers on new innovative ways of farming in order to improve and increase their productivities. To create network of literate farmers that will incorporate science and technology on their agricultural practice,

Our Background

Team Agroxtension is a group of innovative students solving the problem of high cost on agricultural product. We care about students who have little or no money to afford high quality foodstuffs due to the charges on the product at market price. We are planning to have online store where these product will be displayed together with their actual farm price by the farmers. Also, we showcase student expertise on the platform. This will get them engaged right from school before graduation.
