Campo Joven

Degradation of natural resources, sustainable agriculture, healthy food.

Consolidate a network of small farmers, producing healthy and accessible food to the population with a commitment to the environment.

Use Case

Our idea consists of the production of various healthy foods (fruits, vegetables, …) that are available to the consumers. We are promoting the development of the communities, forming networks of farmers, students, and experts in the field of sustainable production. We are opening a farmer’s support program by training them and introducing their products to the market with fair and safe prices. We seek not to limit ourselves by betting on local stores, as well as food stores. We are trying to improve the commercial chains, showing consumers the origin of their food generating bonds of trust, covering a wider sector of the population that can access food.

Potential

45% of consumers look for healthy foods with a tendency to grow. According to the Nielsen Global Study on ‘’what is in our food and our mind’’ applied in 61 countries of the world (2016), consumers look for focused products in environmental health and well-being. As a consequence of food sensitivity, there is the influence of food preferences, consumers are adopting a mindset of going back to basics, focusing on simple ingredients and less processed foods, avoiding artificial ingredients, hormones or antibiotics, genetically modified organisms (GMOs). There is a clear opportunity to contribute to the needs of consumers by improving environmental conditions.

Business Case

The general population deserves to have access to healthy food and a healthy environment, small producers are those who can provide quality food, inviting them to join a network of farmers to organize work. We are assuring the boost of the farmers’ economic development with the commercialization of their products in a fair and loyal way, creating a digital catalog of products to distribute directly with commercial chains, stores and consumers, where information such as quantity and temporality of the products can be found, which allows us to establish a coordination with the Government, organizations and institutions will mainly support farmers with community equipment and machinery to minimize production costs.

Objectives:

  1. Achieve food security, with healthy food and accessible to the population.
  2. To be the means for the farmer to improve their quality by committing ourselves to the environment.
  3. To be a model of an organized agricultural eco-region creating a production unit consisting mainly of young people
