Use Case

Our product user concept is the family and food industry, where the food industry such as bread and cakes are the biggest users of our products, while families will use our products to make their staple foods.

Potential

With the sorghum flour, it can reduce the use of wheat flour. wheat is a staple food in certain areas, with the presence of sorghum flour products, is expected to reduce the demand for wheat flour in the future, and will prevent food shortages in 2050.

Business Case

we offer medium to large scale food business concept with sorghum flour as product. We offer the concept because of the enormous use of wheat in the food industry, so that later sorghum flour can substitute wheat flour and reduce the use of wheat in the future. With the existence of our products, it is expected that the needs of wheat flour in the future will not increase significantly

Objectives:

  1. sorghum has a lot of potential, so it is very profitable if we can process sorghum into a useful product
  2. Introducing various food alternatives previously rarely used by the community
  3. Sorghum has resistance to extreme weather, so it can be planted although the weather is not good and able to prevent food shortages in 2050

Our Mission

the more usage of wheat in several foods caused demand for the wheat increase. its happened because wheat is the main food in some specific regions of the world. Aside from being the main food, wheat is also used as a base for making wheat flour, which can produce foods such as noodles, spaghetti and more. Considering for a very large wheat needed and to prevent food scarcity in 2050. Therefore we give an idea to substitute the wheat flour with sorghum flour, which is made from sorghum seeds.

Our Background

we consist of five people where all of us are chemical engineering students. we are participating in this event because we want the experience, grow, and channel our ideas to help each other. we care about food scarcity in the future, for that we try to find food substitution. with the presence of this TFF we hope to be able to develop our idea of substituting wheat flour with modified sorghum, which the anti-nutritional content in sorghum has been reduced and the quality is improved.
