Laticin

Laticin is a smart management software for dairy factories.

Software for dairy management specifically designed to serve the entire chain, from milk collection to the sale of dairy products.

Use Case

In 2013, with a production valued at US$328 billion, milk was the top agricultural commodity in value terms the world over and is projected to increase at an average growth rate of 1.8% annually until 2025. Just in Brazil, the dairy industry doubled in the last 7 years. The problem we solve is the difficulty to manage information on dairy industries, especially the small and medium sized ones. These dairies use generic ERPs, spreadsheets and/or paper for the management of information and processes, leaving the data scattered and unprotected. Consequently, there are decisions which are made supported by the staff's experience, which then compromises quality control, affects seasonal buying, First In First Out control on finished product, fraud and other production variables.

Potential

Through an application with desktop/mobile access, which works online and offline, we organize the entry and processing of data generated on the production. Using AI, we provide insights to the administrator in order to better visualize where and how production can be optimized and speed up processes through prediction algorithms. Additionally, we make it possible to sign up for specific modules by sector, which enables us to offer a product that can be customized to the needs of every dairy. Our goal is to provide business insights to help dairy industries make data-driven decisions, reduce up to 20% of costs, manage performance and expand their businesses.

Business Case

Our main clients are small/medium dairy industries (50.000 liters a day capacity, or less). 2000 dairies are legal in Brazil, 86,7% are in our target audience, meaning an estimated market of 1730 dairies. Our pricing strategy is currently undergoing extensive testing. We adopt a subscription revenue model, offering plans with different values depending on the number of modules adopted. Our costs are mostly composed of human resources for software development, marketing and business operation. Starting with Brazil, we estimate a revenue of US$650.000/year considering the adoption of our software by only 10% of the market (173 dairies paying US$312/month).

Objectives:

  1. Bring what’s most modern in the world to the dairy industry, without losing their origin and uniqueness.
  2. To provide business insights to help dairy factories make data-driven decisions, to reduce up to 20% of costs and to manage performance.
  3. Increase the productivity and competitiveness of small and medium dairy factories helping them raise their business.

Our team counted on the partnership with a dairy of the region to spend a day of immersion understanding the processes and difficulties of the sector.
We had several interesting insights for our project and we even tried some products!
Super productive day!

Our Mission

As affordable technological resources are lacking, information in dairies is spread among spreadsheets and generic software, wasting resources, time and hindering adaptation to standards of regulatory agencies. Laticin is a smart software for integrated information management specifically designed for them. Our goal is to provide business insights in order to assist them in how to make data-driven oriented decisions, to reduce costs, manage performance and grow their business.

Our Background

Our team is ready: Cristiano, who started programming at the age of 8, has, through his experiences at the head of university projects, the necessary baggage to develop the software.
