In India, 55% of the labour is reliant on agriculture. Farmers' Market aims at improving the poor remuneration structure farmers face, in the course of selling produce, due to exploitative middlemen and inefficiency in the supply chain. The project is intended to knit the farmers in a community via FPCs with the consumers directly by providing them a market base that excludes middlemen and bids higher prices, thereby preventing migration of farmers from the job and ensuring availability of food.
