Extending the life of food to years by salting and canning method.

Use Case

There is huge increase in food production due to advancement in technology and use of different scientific techniques and equipments in farming. Even though the production is high, every second a person dies of hunger. So we need to prolong the life of food so that it can be stored for a longer period of time and provided to needy people. Salting and canning is an easy and convenient way of preserving foods for years. Salting and canning idea helps us to meet our goal of feeding 9+ billion people by 2050 & also helps in eradicating food problem and starvation worldwide.

Potential

Salting and canning is an easy, cheap and convenient way of preserving the food. Preserving the food by this method creates microorganism free environment in food items and thus prevents us from different food borne disease. Food wastage is also causing environmental pollution throughout the world. This increases the no. of vectors for different communicable diseases. If the wasted food is preserved, not only we will solve the food problem but also prevent large population from getting diseased. It also creates hygienic, fresh and eco-friendly environment.

Business Case

Our mission is to prevent food wastage and preserve it by salting and canning. Since salting and canning is an easy, cheap and convenient way, it is easy to implement. Our organization works by providing short training to members on salting and canning process. Once the food items are preserved, they are transported to the site of food storage and distribution. Since there are many benefits of this process and with increasing awareness among the people, this concept has a possibility of huge success. This process is economical and can be run for a very long period of time without any difficulty. With a long run, it has a huge possibility of solving the problem of food crisis in near future.

Objectives:

  1. To prevent the food wastage throughout the world.
  2. To minimize the pollution from food wastage and prevent from different communicable disease.
  3. To provide employment opportunities to unemployed ones without requiring specific criteria for jobs.
