Waste banks are made to utilize organic waste as compost and inorganic waste for the manufacture of porous asphalt made from LDPE plastic.

Use Case

Innovation to be made is the latest innovation that is design and manufacture of asphalt porous with LDPE plastic material as an alternative to improve access road as food distrubusi and maintain environmental balance by utilization of LDPE plastic waste and utilization of organic waste to be made compost by composting method. LDPE plastic waste produced by the community will be used as a asphalt porous material, this is done to maintain the durability of roads from puddles on the asphalt caused by less optimal management on road construction.

Potential

Trash is one of the causes of ecosystem damage on earth. One of the biggest donor country in the world is Indonesia. Therefore, the concept of Waste Bank is initiated to improve the environment in terms of reducing waste that integrates with increasing food security especially in Indonesia. However, this waste bank system is also applicable in all countries. Organic waste mostly in the form of plastic waste which is difficult to decompose will be accumulated for the improvement of road infrastructure that is part of the distribution of food by making porous asphalt made from LDPE plastic. Inorganic waste will be used for the manufacture of compost fertilizer that can improve the quality of agricultural products.

Business Case

The business model that we used is a collective business. That means a business organization with a collaboration of resources in the form of traders and professionals in various fields. Traders referred to the people who work together with us on a business basis, they have to exchange their household wages for compensation. However, the waste must have been separated between organic and inorganic. Then, the professionals in this section are investors or government that will work with us for the continuity of innovation in the distribution and prosperity of food. Professionals have the role of the financiers, licensors, and providers of road damage information.

Objectives:

  1. Increasing the food distribution system through innovation of asphalt porous made from waste plastic LDPE
  2. Increasing the prosperity of plants with innovation utilization of organic waste to be made compost by composting
  3. Improve the quality and quantity of food for the world needs and maintain environmental stability, especially solid waste problems.

Se'ase Sehijean Adventure

This idea was obtained in 2013. Started with environmental problems in the form of high plastic waste, especially in Indonesia. Then, an idea emerged to make the plastic as the base material of asphalt at an economical price. The development of this idea was conducted over 5 years through literature studies, surveys, lecturer analysis, and regular discussions. Finally, in 2018 this idea was realized. Our team conducted a survey straight down to the village to see the situation. Not only that, we do regular gathering twice a week and consultation to the lecturer regularly. Then, we also consulted TFF ambassador on a regular basis. This idea can solve the problem of road damage that requires a high cost for its repair. In fact, damaged asphalt is mostly located in rural areas which are the main access of food distribution channels. Damage to existing roads can cause food quality to decline. The existence of this innovation can solve the problem of food distribution and improve the quality of food. The asphalt we made has been modified to asphalt porous. Then, through various calculations of waste generated in Indonesia, not only plastic waste, but also an organic waste. Organic waste also has an important role in supporting food, especially food fertility. Therefore, we combine our innovations by making fertilizer supporting plant fertility. Fertility crops can increase the quantity of food. We believe, that our idea can solve the problems of world food especially Indonesia in increasing quantity and quality.

Our Mission

Se'ase sehijean is a team that pioneers to improve quality and quantity by using organic and inorganic wastes of society. LDPE plastic such as plastic bottles from inorganic waste will be used as a porous asphalt material for Improving food distribution system. Organic waste will be used as a compost fertilizer that can improve the quality of agricultural products.

Our Background

Our team has a high concern for food. Quality and quantity of food are affected by distribution and prosperity. Distribution problem: damage to road access. Prosperity problem: lack of growth nutrients. These issues brought us (students of civil and environmental engineering, biochemistry, and livestock technology) in collaboration. Through this challenge, we believe that our innovation can solve food problems. We need the support of stakeholders such as investors, government, and society.
