FEED-YOUR-NEIGHBOR-CYCLE

PROUD TO BE THE PROBLEM SOLVERS OF FOOD WASTAGE AND FOOD SHORTAGE

Feed-your-neighbor-cycle is a platform where we can gather the harvest seasons of popular crops nation by nation to continent by continent.

Use Case

Our platform provides information on continents and countries with shortages as well as continents and countries with surplus to ensure that foods are better appropriated and put to good use around the world. As we undertake a pilot study from our own country, Ghana, we would be intensively engaging the agricultural officials and farmers in the remote parts of the country that may be lacking the necessary resource for accessing our platform. In the towns and cities in our regions, data would also be collated through the agricultural ministries. Our reach extends to the food wholesalers, retailers, food processors, institutions, refugee camps, malls and donor agencies who may be in need of food supply or may have excess food to supply.

Potential

The provision of all year-round data on agricultural activities will assist businesses in making sound logistical decisions which will reduce cost of production. Blemished foods from developed parts of the world would be processed into high quality but low cost processed foods. There will be value for goods that will otherwise go waste and hence create an economic ripple effect that will generate revenues. The reduction in food that otherwise will be wasted will reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. Activate charcoal induced farming would be educated and encouraged to the farmers. The increased crop residue which becomes a menace in disposing would be made available for a safer, cheaper and environmentally friendly source of cooking fuel, Bidigreen.

Business Case

Our market has been segmented into continents, countries. Our platform would begin to reach out to inter states or regions within a country. Acknowledging the fact that regulatory requirements for a platform as ours would necessitate the act of partnering with these ministries across the globe. Our food transportation channels would be through the local dealer networks, the food retailers and E-commerce from our platform. The setup cost for developing our web app estimated to be an amount of $3000. Revenue generated would be from the sources of Royalties paid by countries and continents for utilizing the platform, commissions paid by food processing companies for the blemished foods made available to them, food transport services advertised on the platform sales from Bidigreen.

Objectives:

  1. To reduce food wastage and food shortage to barest minimum.
  2. To eliminate hunger strike and malnutrition in some states and cities.
  3. To reduce greenhouse gases emission resulting from increased food waste.
