Comproagro

Colombia agriculture the intermediaries are the main problem.

Intermediaries are those who keep the profits derived from agricultural crops. this is why, We decide to create an application

Use Case

The project is designed to help small farmers to establish a commercial alliance without needing the help of intermediaries. It is a technological tool that allows harvested products to be offered without having to take them to a marketplace to display them. comproagro is born in the remote mountains of Boyaca but extends to all rural regions of Colombia serving as a network that allows farmers to group and connect their products with buyers in a fairer manner. the software was developed thinking about the educational level of the producer, it contains a virtual platform of easy access that allows them to upload their products in an easy, free way and avoiding any kind of inconveniences.

Potential

market constraints in agricultural products between the various actors in the production and marketing chain. It starts with understanding the inequalities of opportunities for vulnerable communities, and events or traditions outside those communities, which generate the conditions that perpetuate poverty from generation to generation. Agents involved in this market are immersed in these economic and sociocultural dynamics, favoring exclusion of social groups with less power, as in the case of small producers in Colombia. Given the need of the small producer for a fair environment that would allow him to access the market avoiding economic losses and therefore the profitability of their products, it is created as a technological tool that guarantees food security and empowers them.

Business Case

We are a group of farmers who think that technology is the solution, the transformation and dignification of the beautiful work of being farmers.we suffered in our own flesh the typical problems of the Colombian countryside: the low agricultural prices and the bad seasons, which forced to work for months at a loss. we succeeded when we cut the intermediaries. The idea is so simple that it is surprising that they have not thought of it before. Producers register for free and enter the product. Buyers can filter the offer for the place of origin and contact sellers directly. Today, Comproagro.com has become one of the most acclaimed young innovations in the Colombian countryside. The growth has been such, that they already have more than 7,100 registered users.

Objectives:

  1. Created a digital platform that contacts agricultural producers directly with final buyers. Producers register for free.
  2. Cut all the intermediaries of the productive chain, connecting producers with wholesalers .
  3. Increase the income of the small producer through the use of an application that connects him with the buyer
