Direct Coffee

Drink Good Do Good

Better than bio | Fairer than fairtrade | 200% transparent

Use Case

9 out of 10 people drink coffee. 9 out of 10 people want business to improve the world. Direct Coffee does just that: we offer a coffee that makes the world a bit better.

Potential

We revolutionize the industry by putting the smallholder farmers in the foreground and by connecting both ends of the food value chain. Small-scale producers and consumers meet in mutual interest and respect. Fully transparent and human. This will change the food industry.

Business Case

B2C coffee subscription: We offer the fairtrade 2.0 coffee subscription for private customers. Coffee is sent freshly roasted in the mailboxes in a environment-friendly waste-avoiding packaging. In beans or in biodegradable capsules. B2B coffee : We offer sustainable coffee for offices, gastro and retailers. Our sustainable coffee corners include the leasing of everything to have great coffee that is good for planet and people.

Objectives:

  1. Better than bio : Become the reference for products cultivated in natural forest ecosystems
  2. Fairer than fairtrade : We buy directly from smallholder and pay 30% more than fairtrade. And we reinvest profit in community projects.
  3. 200% transparent: Our clients come to meet the smallholder and see the whole value chain. The small-scale producers meet the end-consumers.

Direct Coffee at TFF

We are up and running for TFF!! Would love to take part and bring our startup further.

Our Mission

Drink Good Do Good. We change the way the industry is working by putting in the foreground the smallholder farmers and by connecting directly both ends of the food value chain.

Our Background

In November 2015 we came up with the idea of a social startup that combines coffee trade with positive change. Less than two months later we were already in Ethiopia – the home of coffee. We met coffee farmers, found local partners for our social projects and finally selected the first two tons of coffee. Only half a year after having the idea, we were ready to go: sales started – dispatching from our one-room apartment in Zurich to the whole of Switzerland. And love holds.
