What, Where, When to plant

Help farmers estimate their amount of yields, what best to cultivate, where to cultivate and when to start cultivation

Use Case

A farmer need to know his estimated profit margin before he decides which crop he should cultivate. At Agri-X, the farmer goes to our website, input his farm address or co-odinates and uses the available GIS too to draw a polygon around his farm which would be shown on screen, select the type of crop he wants to cultivate and he is provided the estimate ampunt of yields to be expected. Further he can request us to help him analyse his farm to tell him what is best to be planted and when to state his planting activities

Potential

It will help farmer cultivate the right crop on the right soil. Give the an forecast information on what to expect at the ending of the planting season if all proper methods and practices are well taken.This will increase the amount of yields per farms and reduce the tendency of cultivating crops species that are not needed in the market at that moment.

Business Case

Getting the estimated yield result from our GIS web tool is free.But in order to actually achieve that estimate, youll need us to do a follow up on your farm to help monitor its metro-data, soil and plant health all through the planting season.This is done on premium level.This premium level is divided into two classes- Classic : This would involve the use of drones and cheap weather sensor to monitor farms at regular interval-Basic : This involves just the use of cheap sensors planted in farm to acquire relevant data for monitoring farm and plant growth.Major revenue sources are- Consultancy and Analyses fee- Sales of cheap sensors- Drone scanning.

Objectives:

  1. To help farmers have a forecast on what they should expect if they decided to cultivate a particular crop.
  2. Help farmers know what best to plant on their farm, taken their soil chemical and physical properties and market demand into consideration
  3. Help farmers achieve the maximum amount of yields that could be obtain in a planting season

All to achieve the maximum yields and meet the current market demand

We intend to help them by informing them what best to cultivate on their farms (taking soil chemical and physical properties and current market demand into consideration), when best to start cultivation and what would be the expected yield after cultivation. (All these would be done before the farmers actually commence cultivation of his or her farm)
