Na-U-Next Salone

Food Security, Security & Dignity 4 All

Our core business objective is to ensure food security among the low-income customers by providing them priority access to staples

Use Case

We seeks to provide a cushion of food security for low-income households estimated at 3.5 million across Sierra Leone. Cash flow in these households is tupically uneven and prone to many spikes. In the event of income shock the immediate impact tend to be restriction on spending on food items. Children often go to school unable to learn at their maximum capacity.

Potential

Na-U-Next seeks to provide a cushion of food security for its beneficiary households estimated at 3.5 million. These households are provided an interest-free monthly rolling credit of Le75,000 which they may dip into in times of emergency. Apart from the credit facility, customers may also expect to have a saving around 8–10 % on their purchases at Na-U-Next community corner store and from our retail truck. This cost saving is delivered by leveraging the power of aggregation amongst the weaker and lower income households.

Business Case

Na-U-Next is focused on selling to Consumers (B2C). This model is built around providing convenience and best value for money to the end users. The customers can visit our corner or truck, see the different products on offer and decide to become a member before benefiting from the scheme. When approval to join the scheme is granted by the board, members may at any time walk to our various community corner store or truck to purchase by using the unique customers card. They may choose to pay cash or avail of the credit facility. This is our main focus and we concentrate all of our initial resources at this.

Objectives:

  1. The key objective of Na-U-Next is to ensure food security among the low income household customers
  2. Provide an interest-free monthly rolling credit of Le75,000 which they may dip into in times of emergency
  3. Customers may also expect to have a saving around 8–10 % on their purchases at Na-U-Next community corner store and from our retail truck.
